I decided to buy it, and review it in the hotel tonight. The label &#8220;gold medal champion ale&#8221; for the international brewing industry awards 2004 gives me high hopes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/likelymoose.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/wpid-13553469569921.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"1355346956992.jpg\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/likelymoose.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/wpid-1355346956992.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Pour and colour: 1849 has a dark copper colour with a thin white head which doesn&#8217;t all together disipate.<\/p>\n<p>Aroma: caramel and chemicaly, slight hint of cut grass.<\/p>\n<p>Taste: Bigger caramel flavour than you expect from the nose. Rounded and balanced in general. Slight citrus, lemon possibly as well.<\/p>\n<p>Aftertaste: More citrus, not exactly hoppy though. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Final verdict:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>6 \/ 10<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Well rounded, with a citrus finish.
